Adam Ross is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with over 20 years of experience, specialising in cataract and lens surgery, retina, uveitis and general ophthalmology. He has led the retinal service at Bristol Eye Hospital and been active in clinical research. Trained in Bristol, Cheltenham, New York, and Washington, he holds various postgraduate qualifications. Mr. Ross is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy, actively teaching ophthalmologists and allied health professionals. He has also contributed to research at Boehringer Ingelheim and served on the board of trustees for Sight Research UK.
Gemma Manasseh is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic surgeon with over 17 years of training across London, Bristol, Bath and Cheltenham, including two fellowships in cataract and oculoplastic surgery. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society. She specialises in performing a range of cosmetic, reconstructive and functional eyelid and lacrimal surgeries, and complex cataract surgery. She is committed to improving patient outcomes through original research. She has a Masters degree from University College London in the field of vision research, and has published and presented award-winning research in the field of cataract and oculoplastic surgery that has had a worldwide impact. She has written chapters for textbooks and is a peer reviewer for several journals, including the British Medical Journal. Gemma is kind, approachable and quickly establishes a good relationship with her patients with her gentle approach. She takes the time to explore their needs and priorities. She explains their condition and treatment options in language that is easy to understand, and ensures their understanding before reaching a treatment decision together.
Rachel Healy is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist with over 15 years in the field, specialising in glaucoma, cataract surgery, and general ophthalmology. She is the Glaucoma Lead at the Bristol Eye Hospital, where she provides expert, evidence-based care tailored to individual patient needs. Before studying medicine, Rachel graduated with First Class Honours in Chemistry from the University of Bristol. She completed her medical degree at Newcastle University, followed by specialist ophthalmology training across Cheltenham, Taunton, and Bristol, culminating in a glaucoma fellowship at Bristol Eye Hospital. She also undertook an observership in Birmingham to further refine her expertise in complex glaucoma management. Rachel has played an active role in research throughout her career, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences. Her commitment to advancing ophthalmic knowledge complements her clinical practice and teaching. In addition to her clinical and research work, Rachel holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and actively contributes to training ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals, helping to raise standards across the field. Known for her meticulous clinical approach, clear communication, and dedication to excellence, Rachel delivers the highest standard of patient-centred care.
